Web Design Discussions for Website Designers

Web analytics is a tool for measurement of the traffic on your website. When you build a website, you have put a lot of effort tin it and so you want to earn money too through it. You put ads through pay per placement or pay per click ads programs. You will use different methods to increase the traffic for your blog, and of course, you would also want to know the statistics of the daily visitors.

This is where web analytics come in. They help you measure your visitors and the number of visits made on your website or blog. Web analytics will also tell us which are the most popular pages of the blog or website and the least popular ones as well. It is a tool, which helps us and gives us clues as to what might be wrong with the website or what are the causes of less traffic. Our current site traffic comes from various sources online, different online marketing programs, reference sites etc. Or it could also be the efforts we have made in the past for the optimization of the website and to increase the traffic.

There are many advantages of using such analytical and web tools; for an advertising manager it could be used to keep a close watch on the ad listing programs; and for websites which sell products online, it is necessary for them too to know who the buyer is, how did it know about the site, and how long he stayed etc.

One of the biggest advantages or features of web analytics is that you get to know exactly how the visitor landed there. Where did he get to know about the site from? Was t a search engine and if so then which one? Was it a reference site, if so then which one? The right answers to these questions can help us make more marketing partnerships and sales chambers.

Web analytics can provide us with many details. Some of which are – for the advertiser – the average cost of the pay per click visitors, cost of visitors from the pay per click program, the average time spent on the website, percentage of the visits, total number of visitors per day or week or month (view settings), the referring site, the search engine from where the visitor clicked, most frequent visitors, which part of the world did the visitor belong to, the most pages visited, the least popular page, etc. In short, web analytics provides us solutions for many things. Give us all the information we want relating our site traffic and visitors.

There are many kinds of web analytics software available, with different features. We should be very careful in the choosing of them and choose the one which fits our need the best. In this era of artificial intelligence, what more could we get than softwares like these, which makes our lives so much easier.
